Cuban artist YUSA presents her new album, “Vivo”.
“Vivo” is her first life recorded album, and number fourth in her career. It was recorded during April and May 2010, at the Jazz Club, Café Vinilo, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
“Vivo” reflects upon the artist power when she enters a podium and her ability to send the audience into ecstasies like only a few can do.

About YUSA:
YUSA represents the new wave of Cuban musicians. They mix and condense their country’s traditional music with the sounds of the rest of the world. In Yusa’s case ¬–she is a compositor as well as a performer– she combines Rock, Jazz, Pop, and Brazilian music with her Cuban roots genres, like Rumba, Trova and Son.
Yusa’s four albums are: “Yusa” (2002); “Breathe” (2004); “Haiku” (2008) and the DVD “Yusa live at Ronnie Scott´s”, and “Vivo” (2010) They were published in Europe, Cuba, Japan, Argentina.

Yusa lives between La Havana, Cuba and Argentina, but she tours the world: England, Holland, France, Norway, Belgium, Japan, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Portugal, are under many countries she has been. Her agenda in 2011 include tours to Brazil, Mexico, the Montreal Jazz Fest in Canada, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, Japan, Noruega, Suiza and her first presentation in the USA.

After been nominated to the BBC Awards, she participated with, Lila Downs and Susana Baca, in the “Latin American Voices Tour” 2004, performing in eleven UK cities.
In 2005 she was a guest of BLUE NOTE Japan and performed five times in the jazz club with her band in Tokyo.
Famous Brazilian musician LENINE, invited Yusa to be part of the Trío Planetario, with Argentinean percussionist Ramiro Mussoto. They recorded the DVD In Cité in Paris. That album ended winning the Latin Grammy in the category “Best Brazilian Contemporary Pop Album and Best Song”.
She also took part in the end ceremony of the XV PanAmerican Games in Río de Janeiro, Brazil, sharing stage with Jorge Drexler, Lenine, and other artists.
In 2009 Yusa finished her album “Haiku” and, right after, she began the Haiku Tour, through many cities of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, England and Uruguay.

In 2010, Yusa, toured Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. Last April she did many presentations called “Having fun with friends” in the Buenos Aires Jazz Club “Café Vinilo”. In October she released her latest album in Havana, Cuba, and went right after that she went to Europe in a tour with the Interactivo Band and her show “YUSA Solo Set”. She went to the Scandinavian Peninsula, France and Switzerland. In November Yusa went to Chile and play in two events for Havana Club before more than 1000 people. And in December she was in Buenos Aires, in the CAFF, performing in 4 concerts.

In 2011, the Yusa Tour began in Europe: Scandinavia to be more exact.
In March, Yusa will sing and play the bass in a stage suspended by a crane, 60 meters high, hanging over the heads of more than 50.000 people in the Argentinean Carnival, Buenos Aires. She will be shows musical director. She will play accompanied by 8 percussionists, acrobats, flying dancers of the Elevé company, and stilts dancers from Cirqué Du Solei.
Yusa will be in Argentina and Brazil in April and May, touring various cities. She will be in the Sao Paulo “Virada Cultural”, and performing in the second cycle “Having fun with friends” in Café Vinilo Jazz Club. Yusa will be in Canada for the Montreal Jazz Festival.
From July 6 to 8 she will present her last album “Vivo” in the Cotton Jazz Club in Tokyo.

ACERCA DE YUSA:

YUSA representa la nueva ola de músicos cubanos que condensan la tradición de su país con los sonidos del resto del mundo. En el caso particular de esta compositora e intérprete, hay mixtura de rock, jazz, pop, sonoridad brasileña y honda raíz cubana, como la rumba, la trova y el son.

Los cuatro trabajos discográficos de Yusa: “Yusa” (2002); “Breathe” (2004); “Haiku” (2008) el DVD “Yusa live at Ronnie Scott´s”, y “Vivo” (2010) fueron editados en Europa, Cuba y Estados Unidos por TUMI Music, en Japón por el sello Omagatoki, y para Sudamérica por Vinilo Records y MDR Records.

Yusa vive en La Habana, Cuba, pero recorre el mundo girando por Inglaterra, Francia, Alemania, Italia, Holanda, Brasil, Japón, entre otros. Para este año la esperan en su agenda un Tour por Brasil, México, el Fest Montreal Jazz de Canadá, Colombia, Uruguay, y su primera presentación en los Estados Unidos.
Luego de haber sido nominada a los Premios de la BBC de Londres , participó junto a sus dos compañeras de terma, Lila Downs y Susana Baca, de la Gira “Latin American Voices” (Mujeres Latinas) 2004, recorriendo once ciudades inglesas.
En el año 2005 fue invitada por BLUE NOTE Japón a realizar un ciclo de shows con su banda en el destacado local de jazz ubicado en Tokyo.
Invitada por el músico brasilero LENINE, Yusa formó parte del Trío Planetario junto al percusionista argentino Ramiro Mussoto, con quienes grabó el DVD In Cité en la ciudad de París, luego premiado con un Latin Grammi en la terna “Best Brazilian Contemporary Pop Album and Best Song”.
Participó en la clausura de los XV Juegos Panamericanos en Río de Janeiro, Brasil, compartiendo el escenario del estadio Maracaná con Jorge Drexler y Lenine, entre otros artistas.

En el año 2009 con su disco “Haiku” Yusa realizó de agosto a octubre el Haiku Tour, presentándose en diferentes ciudades de Brasil, Argentina, Chile y Uruguay.

En el 2010, Yusa, pasó por Chile, Uruguay y Brasil, así como también visitó algunas ciudades de Argentina. En el mes de abril presentó el Ciclo “Descarga con amigos” en el club porteño Café Vinilo donde compartió escenario con Liliana Herrero, Tonolec, Raly Barrionuevo y Hugo Fattoruso. Con el músico santiagueño Raly Barrionuevo se han presentado juntos para la Universidad del Litoral y para el Aniversario del Teatro Municipal de Bahía Blanca. En octubre presentó su último disco en la Habana, Cuba, luego partió a Europa a girar con Interactivo Band y con su show “Yusa Solo Set” por Escandinavia, Francia y Suiza. En el mes de noviembre regresó a Chile a brindar dos shows para Havana Club ante más de 1000 personas. Diciembre la encontró en Buenos Aires cerrando el año en el CAFF junto a toda su banda en cuatro conciertos.

En 2011, el Tour de Yusa comienza en Europa, durante todo el mes de febrero recorrerá las frías tierras Escandinavas. En marzo, abril y mayo estará en Argentina recorriendo con su música diferentes ciudades y realizar en Buenos Aires el segundo ciclo “Descarga con amigos” en el club de jazz Café Vinilo. En el mes de septiembre YUSA presentará seis shows en el Cotton Jazz Club de Tokyo acompañando el lanzamiento de su nuevo disco “VIVO”, el cuarto que se edita en Japón.
